INDIA- SPECIFIC DISASTER MANAGEMENT- WHAT DO WE DO?

India is an emerging global economy and in a shrinking global village today, India is certainly delicately placed. Many countries are keen to invest here and the government is doing some power marketing to attract foreign investment. But Corona pushed us back in a big way.

The pandemic caught the country unawares, especially in the second wave and even now, there is need to step with caution. Mr. Krishnan’s emphasis on educating people is very important here. Most of the problems caused by the pandemic stem from public behaviour and public ignorance. After the proverbial horses have bolted, there is still the need to emphasise this point because a repeat of the disaster can be very possible even now.

People who practiced, or were forced to practice home imprisonment can today appreciate how their long isolation and distancing from their loved ones in particular and society at large, has helped them survive this terrible monster called corona. It was a forced education thrust upon them but it is this education that will serve them well in future.

Now that the situation has eased and public intercourse has restarted, it is all the more important to have training camps and programs to educate the last man on the do’s and don’ts about corona and climate change too.

With the Covid attack, we, at PROLITE, are already on the job of manufacturing safety signages of all materials, sizes, and shapes to suit all locations. In places where footfalls are plenty like shops, offices, dispensaries, hospitals, malls, multiplexes, high rises etc. the sign plays a big part in directing traffic, educating and updating people on the spot. So, the need is for bright, readable and effective massaging through signs and we have it all.
