Three members of a family, including a 19-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy, died after a fire broke out in a residential structure at Bhagatsingh Nagar in Goregaon (West) in the early hours of Saturday,10th January. The three persons trapped inside the house were sleeping when the fire hit. They were extracted and rushed to Trauma Care Hospital, Goregaon, in a police van and a private vehicle. However, they couldn’t be saved. The deceased have been identified as Harshada Pawaskar (19), Kushal Pawaskar (12) and Sanjog Pawaskar (48). Officials said all three had sustained burn injuries. Authorities have yet to pinpoint the fire's origin, with investigations focusing on faulty wiring or household negligence. The incident underscores persistent urban fire safety challenges in densely packed Mumbai neighborhoods, prompting calls for stricter building norms.
