DFS EXPECTING LITANY OF FIRE ACCIDENT COMPLAINTS THIS SUMMER

Firefighters of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) are battle ready to face a busy summer. Statistics and expectations indicate that they anticipate 20 calls per day on average this scorching summer. According to an official who spoke to media, the peak summer months of April, May, and June are when fire accidents across the city see a drastic increase. To ensure a fast response time, fire officials said tenders have been floated to procure six skylifts to quickly reach tall buildings, seven multi-articulated water towers to effectively douse a blaze in congested areas and two hazmat vans.

“We will procure a 90-metre skylift or an aerial ladder platform so those stuck at the top of a building where a fire has broken out can be rescued. We currently have 70-metre and 40-metre skylifts and these hydraulic ladders will help firefighters reach high-rises,” said the official.
