DCB TO PROBE DALAVAPURAM BLAZE THAT KILLED 5

Five people died a grisly death in a massive blaze that ripped through a house near Varkala a year ago. The police have now decided to hand over the case to the District Crime Branch (DCB).

As per a report, Dalavapuram resident Prathapan, his wife Sherly, their youngest son Ahil, daughter-in-law Abhirami and her son Ryan had died in the inferno that struck the family on March 8 last year. Abhirami’s husband Nihul, the second of Prathapan’s three sons, survived the fire.

While both the police and the Fire and Rescue Services had ruled out the possibility of sabotage, the investigations could not arrive at a conclusive finding regarding the source of the fire.
