FIRE ACCIDENTS OCCUR VERY OFTEN-ARE YOU PROTECTED?

  • A massive blaze broke out at a temporary structure on the roof of a four-storied building in the Gautam Nagar area of Delhi. According to the fire services department, the blaze may have been caused by a twin-cylinder blast. No loss of life reported thankfully. The incident occurred around 9 am on Tuesday, 14th February.

 

  • Three fire accidents were reported from different parts of Kanpur city on Sunday, 12th February, though no loss of life was reported but the consistency of such mishaps remain a cause for worry. Hotel Bliss at GT Road was one location. The hotel was evacuated hurriedly while the firemen did their work.  Maintenance work of the chimney had been neglected for a long time, and that was the reason given for the mishap. Another fire was caused by a short circuit in a house located near Krishna Nagar post office. The blaze did not take lives but burnt down everything in the house to cinders. Pal Lassi Dhaba near the District court was the third location, here too a short circuit was the cause. The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade.

 

  • A 45-year-old man and his 12-year-old son were burnt to death, and two workers were injured after fire broke out in his cracker shop near Amballur village in Vaniyambadi on Sunday, 12th February. His workers in the shop, R. Velayudham (57) and S. Raman (36), both residents of Ambur taluk, were arranging the firecrackers in the shop. When a few customers asked for some crackers, Mr. Kumar and his son went inside the shop where suddenly crackers burst into flames and spread to other parts of the shop. “The two victims suffered severe burns and died. The actual cause of the incident is being investigated,” K. Balakrishnan, Superintendent of Police (SP), Tirupattur, told The Hindu. Initial investigation revealed that the incident happened around noon on Sunday. 

 

  • Three workers were reportedly injured in a fire accident that happened in a spinning mill unit in Ravicherla village near Nuzvid on Saturday late hours. The injured workers were admitted to a private hospital where their condition was reported to be recovering. According to locals, the incident happened on Saturday night, when the injured three workers and others were performing their duties in the store section of the unit and caught in the fire mishap due to a suspected short circuit. While others were managed to escape from the store, three workers received minor burn injuries.
